12. Thanksgiving Break~!~!

This week has been so much fun!

I absolutely love being around family!

Tuesday night I hung out with my best friend and went to dinner; we had a good time.

Wednesday night I hung out with another one of my good friends and went to dinner and a movie. This evening was a great time.

Thanksgiving day my family and I went over to my cousin's house and ate lunch.
This event was a lot of fun. For the past few years the sets of families seem to have gone their separate ways and doing their own thing, but this year it was nice. We had almost everyone join and eat Thanksgiving together.

Saturday was the best day--it was the Iron Bowl. For those of you who do not know what the Iron Bowl is, it is when the Alabama and Auburn  football teams play one another. The Iron Bowl has been the biggest rivalry game for the state. I love going to watch the teams play. I went with four of my family members. Alabama won 36-0. I was excited to see the score, because Alabama has not beaten Auburn in six years.

I hope everyone had a nice break!

11. Weekend Wedding

This weekend I came home because my cousin got married yesterday afternoon at 2:00.

I came home after my friday class's. When I got home we went to my favirote restraunt.

It was a good to see my whole family this weekend. The wedding itself was quite beautiful!
Everyone looked gorgeous! The reception was quite simple everyone ate simple snack food. The cutting of the cake was not even announced. I had never been to a Baptist wedding before so it was interesting to see the difference in a baptist wedding and an episcopalian wedding.

After the wedding my family went over to my cousins house to meet our newest editon to the family my new cousin Marshall. It was a lot of fun meeting him. I love baby's.

This weekend was a lot of fun, I do not really want to drive back to MC to go to classes for two days but I have to. Thank goodness Thanksgiving break is almost here.

10. My trip to tuscaloosa

Friday at 2:00 I went on a road trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama

I was going to tuscaloosa to meet my dad, sister, and nephew for the Alabama v. Mississippi State football game. I was the first of my family to arrive at the hotel. I did not have any of the information to check in so I waited in the lobby for my dad to arrive.

while I was waiting in lobby I saw some of the hotel employees putting up a red rope going acoss the side of the room. People started showing up and sitting down with me waiting this made me curious so I asked one of the men sitting down what was going on. The answer I received was the football players are about to come through. This was exciting because I had no idea that they did this. Supposidly every friday night before a home football game the Alabama players stay in this hotel and have there meetings there.

I got to see coach Nick Saban walk down and head into the room where they were going to have meetings and eat dinner. shortly after that the football players followed, they were all dressed up in suites. Most of the players went strait up to their room and put there stuff up. Some followed coach saban. I got to see the two players that I knew on a first name basis. I was able to see Cory Reamer who I had meet before and spent some time with one fourth of July. I also saw my friend Mark Barron who I graduated from high school with. It was nice to see him. He looked different than what I remembered.

After all of the excitement of seeing the players my family arrived. Once we checked in we went up to our rooms and put our stuff down. Then we ate dinner in the hotel restraunt. Once we were done eating dinner and started walking back to the elevator to go to our room, we noticed that their were more people standing behind the red rope. Once again we asked what was going on and they said, The players will be back from their movie in 30 minutes if you want to get autographs. Because my nephew had never been to an Alabama game, we waited for the players to come. when they arrived we were told that they could not give any autographs yet because they were late for a meeting, but they would be back in about 15 minutes to give autographs. So we waited again for what seemed like forever. Coach Saban was the first one to come out and give autographs. I got to meet him, and shake his hand he seemed to be a nice guy.
My nephew was able to get a few autographs from the well known players so this made him happy. I was able to have my picture taken with Cory so I was happy.

Saturday when we woke up, we went to the Bryant museum. This was alot of fun, I had never been to see it before. I enjoyed learing a little bit about Alabama football's history. We walked around the streets of tuscaloosa and went in what seemed like all the souvineer shops. It was quite a cold day and because the game was not going to be until 6:45 PM we were buying all the warm things we could get. I had to get gloves, scarf, and a hat to keep me warm. I did not want to freeze. My dad had the brilliant idea of buying a blanket to either sit on or to keep whoever was the coldest warm.

By the time the game rolled around we were all dressed in so many layers. The game was alot of fun. Alabama won 32-7. We had a little bit of weather that was not expected it rained on us for about 5 minutes on and off. It made us a little cold. I had not put my raincoat on as one of my layers because rain was not in the forcast. Well despite the rain all went well and we had a great time at the game, and in tuscaloosa as well.

9. Mystery Date~!

This week was a great week!

Friday I gave a tour to one of my friends from My high school St. Paul's Episcopal School. It was like nothing I had ever done before. It was alot of fun! It was a good experience for me to be able to talk about my home town and catch up with everything. I took him to jazzman's, the health plex and he even sat in on my history class. which it was weard.. he got to experience seeing us take a quiz, have a lecture and even watch a movie(which we never do). I meet his family they were all really nice. I had lunch with them. They were really thoughtful and brought me pedifores from my favirote bakery at home Pollman's bake shop.

Friday night Nenamoosha had there mystery date. So about a month ago we turned in a note card with 5 names of guys that would be our possibilities of who we would have a date with on mystery date. So by the time Saturday had rolled around I had completely forgotton who I put down on my note card. The way it was set up was somehow the girls in charge of the event got the ties of our dates and delivered them to us. Attached to the ties was a note that said: meet your date at the kugle and ten til eight Friday November 7....in order to find your mystery guy Dress up nice and wear this tie!

So...ten til eight rolled around..my Friend Katybeth and I sat at the kugle patiently waiting to see who are mystery guys were going to be. To my surprise I saw Brian Richardson walking up. He said,"You stole my tie". We waited for the other two dates to show up. Once we all accounted for we started walking and followed the crowd.

The party was on the brick streets in downtown clinton. when we arrived there was black and red bags lined up down the streets with candles in them. There was an orchastra playing. Once they packed up and left the Disney move Aristacats played. I admit this was quite halarious I had not seen this movie in forever. They ended the movie about 15 minuted early. After that we had a dance. We danced in the streets until we were exhausted and it was time to leave.
Mystery date 08 was alot of fun and I will never forget it.

Sarurday morning I woke up and went to the "lets go walking mississippi campaign" this was a 1 mile walk around the streets of clinton. I am really glad that I did this. Not only because it was a way of getting my exerice, but I felt like it was a great way to give back to the community of clinton. Saturday was preview day for the school. It was alot of fun. The tailgate kicked off at 11. Tailgates are always alot of fun. It is a great time for you to get together with you friends and socialize and eat. Each tribe and social club sets up a tent and provides food. I helped set up the Nenamoosha tent. I meet back up with my friend that I had given the tour to the previous day. I took him around all the different tents and showed him what a tailgate is like at MC, and a little about the different clubs and social tribes. After the tailgate he and I went to the game. I sat with him in the student section to give him the effect of a MC football game. This was alot of fun. He had to leave at half time to ge to a family wedding.

I stayed and watched the entire game against Sulla Ross sate. It was a fun game to go to we won 41-10! GO CHOCTAWS!

Today at 2:30 I became an active in Nenamoosha Social tribe when I was pinned!

All in all I would sum it up and say this weekend was awesome!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!

8. Washington D.C

This past week I left MC on monday after my class's so I could go home. Tuesday morning I had a 9 am flight to Washington D.C. D.C is one of my favorite places to go. Most of my siblings live there so it is a fun for me to visit them. This trip was quite different.

The reason why I went to D.C was 0n Wednesday October 29, 2008 my Grandmothers urn was burried in the Arlington National Cemetary. It was like nothing I had ever been through.

When we arrived we where held in a small room where the family was able to get together. We waited for the man who was in charge of the cemetary to come and get us. This man got in a small black car. We were insructed to get in our cars and get in a line following behind him so we could be escorted to the burial site.

When we arrived at the burial site. We where instructed to huddle up and look at the small black car as two men dressed in a military attire where walking around(I am not sure what force). One of the men got the urn out of the car and proceeded walking towards the burial site. Behind him followed the other military escort, the preacher, and the head of the cemetary. The family followed behind them.

When we arrived at the burial site there where four green chairs sitting behind the table which had a green felt table cloth over it with the white urn sitting in the middle. I had never seen an urn before in my life. Her urn was white with brown hands on it.

Ther service was short and sweet. The preacher spoke for about 3 minutes. Then my brother in law gave a speach. I think the service lasted about 7 minutes. During the service I heard a fire of a cannon. As we where leaving the service I heard the 21 gun salute. This was really cool aspect. At the time I was not quite sure what was going on I had to ask. Now I know a little more about what the history is behind the 21 gun salute after looking at the website for the cemetary.
After the service we went back to my sisters house and the family got together and talked and eat.

If you have never been to the Arlington National Cemetary. I suggest that if you can, some point in time in your life go see it. It is a beautiful place. All the graves are parallel. If you go to the highest point of the cemetary the sight you will see is unbelievable.

I was in D.C tuesday through thursday morning. This was one of my shortest trips to D.C. It was good to see my family, and get a chance for closure.
